If you have a little more time to sell my diamond engagement ring or the diamond is considered to be a more difficult item to sell then we suggest posting your diamond or diamond engagement ring up on our “diamonds for sale” page where you can get up to the full replacement price for your diamonds and also a better price for the gold as well.
How much is my diamond engagement ring worth?
Unfortunately selling a diamond engagement ring in the preowned market is not worth the same as selling it in a retail store. Retail stores are a business, they have a customer base and a reputation for a particular range or quality of diamond jewellery that people hold with an awareness and element of trust. A retail store also has very large advertising and operational overheads and are selling a new product of which they can ask the full recommended retail price. The RRP is how much worth the jewellery industry is allowed to mark up a diamond engagement ring from the wholesale price, which helps regulate the industry and protects customers from being over charged. This however is the maximum amount that they can sell the item for and in a lot of circumstance these stores will have sales of up to 50% off their marked price.
So How much is my diamond engagement ring worth? Regardless of how much you may have paid for your diamond engagement ring it is only worth at best the lowest possible price that it could be purchased directly from a retail store. That is also if your ring is sold as a whole piece, diamond and ring and it is in near perfect condition. As a diamond merchant business we have the ability and reputation to be able to ask and receive an better price for your diamond than what you would get trying to sell it privately. How much we can ask is dependant on the demand for the type of diamond that you own and how much it is worth to the person wanting to purchase the diamond.
Before offering you a cash price or posting you jewellery we will discuss the best listing price that we believe your diamond engagement ring is worth. If this is acceptable then we will list the jewellery at the highest starting price which will also include our commission and the GST components.
How do we sell your diamond engagement ring on consignment?
There are two options on how we can sell your diamond engagement ring on consignment. We can take your listing where we do not need to hold your diamond ring and contact you when we have an enquiry. All we need is as much information as you can about your diamond and jewellery as you can provided with photos of the ring and its certification to post on our notice board. Then when we have a client interested in your jewellery and they are ready to purchase we will then contact you with their best offered price. If you accept the offer it will be subject to our inspection of the ring for quality and accuracy of the grade before presenting the ring to our client.
For the best chance to sell your diamond ring on consignment we suggest that highly sellable diamonds be left with Diamond Brokers Queensland for direct viewing by our clients. Often just seeing a diamond even before a client has decided on their final quality choice will prompt them to like the diamond that they see and will be happy to take the most accessible option. Diamond Brokers Queensland hold all diamond rings for sale in a secure locked premises and take full responsibility for their safety when in our possession.
Diamond Brokers Queensland do not hold any exclusive rights over the sale of your diamond engagement ring and it can be delisted at a moments request. When we sell your ring we take a commission of $500 or 15% whichever is greater from the total sales price.
Preowned diamond jewellery for sale
In most cases the best chance of selling your diamond jewellery is to have a significant size diamond that can be removed from the jewellery. If the diamond is a popular quality with a quality recognised international diamond certificate it will often be quite easy to sell. This also leaves very little requirement to have to try and sell the rest of the components of the ring to gain a significant sale price. However when the preowned diamond jewellery that you wish to offer for sale only has smaller size diamonds where at least half of the value of the ring is within the jewellery components of the ring other than the central diamond, it means that to gain a reasonable sale for your jewellery it needs to be sold as a complete piece. To sell a piece of preowned diamond jewellery is much more difficult than a large diamond as there is much lower interest in specific design complete jewellery. These items often have a considerably lower relative value as there is very little preowned component value which gives the buyer greater negotiating power.
