The most saleable component of a diamond ring is the central or largest diamond in the ring. Large diamonds are significantly more expensive than any small diamonds and the metal in the ring. Many people looking at the the second hand market are only looking to purchase a diamond that they can have set into their own designed ring. This mean that selling the diamond by itself rather than in the ring can often get you a faster and easier sale.
Diamond brokers Queensland will often buy those premium diamonds that they feel are a particularly good purchase and can be sold on easily. Although selling your diamond directly to us you will get a fair instant cash price the best price will come with waiting to sell your diamond on consignment.
What is a premium diamond?
We would consider a premium diamond to be a stone that is around 70% of the total retail value of an engagement ring. This will be a diamond that is over 0.80ct with a high white colour, eye clean and certified by a quality international diamond certifier. These diamonds are gems that are sought after in the general retail engagement ring market and are sold on a regular basis. Although there is a chance that the diamond may still get sold as a complete ring it is often going to be any unlikely event.
What is your second hand diamond worth?
The best thing about diamonds is that with the introduction of international diamond certification the price can very quickly and easily be determined. We base the selling price of the diamond off the current wholesale diamond cost and add a fair margin for the buyer and the seller. The most popular diamonds are always going to be the easiest to sell and will often return the best price. These are generally certified round brilliant and princess cut diamonds between with a high quality cut, 0.80-1.5ct, E-H/VS-SI quality. Quality diamonds that are outside of this general quality will often be a little more difficult to sell as their market share is smaller and although good quality may take longer to sell or the seller may need to be flexible on the price that they receive.
How to sell your diamond?
Diamond Brokers Queensland are a diamond merchant business with retail and wholesale connections and can offer two options on how to sell your diamond. If the diamond is one that is certified and of high selling potential then Diamond Brokers Queensland can offer to purchase the diamond outright from you at a small percentage below the current market price. The advantage of selling the diamond to us on the day is that you get the diamond sold straight away at a fair price but it is at the minimum price and we generally will only pay for the value of the diamond and not always for the ring. The second option that we can offer on how to sell your diamond is to sell it on consignment. If you are not in an urgent rush to sell your diamond or need to get the maximum possible return back for your investment then selling your diamond on consignment can be the best option. We can take your diamond to sell on your behalf and sell it at an agreed price to obtain the best possible price for you diamond. For this service we ask a commission fee of 15% of the actual sale price only once the diamond has been sold, as we are a business we must also charge the GST on the sale of the diamond. Our commission price on selling your diamond is quite minimal and for the sale prices that we can return to our clients after our commission is generally a higher price than what can be achieved by selling your ring on Gumtree or eBay.
