Selling Jewellery at Auction

If you have gems or jewellery that you are considering selling, Diamond Brokers Queensland, offer a free no obligation assessment to provide a preliminary sale valuation of your items to sell at auction.

We specialise in selling investment gems, premium jewellery brands, engagement rings and all other jewellery of premium value.

Finding a secure place to sell your jewellery with minimal effort at a reasonable return can be very difficult. The Diamond Brokers Queensland, tender auction site is a, no sale, no commission, based sales platform designed to effectively sell quality jewellery at a fair market price.

Tender Auction – Sellers Guide

1. Contact Us

Once you are ready to submit your jewellery for sale send us an email with as much detail about your jewellery as possible, multiple clear images and associated papers. As we are a premium jewellery auction site, we do not list all the items submitted for assessment but if the item is in good condition and holds a resale value over $500 we will generally accept the piece.

Once submitted one of our diamond consultants will assess your jewellery and will be in touch to let you know if we can offer to list your item on our site and give you an estimate on the sale value of your jewellery.

2. Submit your Jewellery for Sale

If you are prepared to sell you jewellery on our website based on our sale valuation estimate you will then need to either send us your jewellery along with any associated certification and valuation via post or deliver it in person to our Cleveland office for final assessment.

Before any item is listed our diamond consultants will thoroughly inspect your jewellery and will advise the seller of our recommended maximum and minimum selling prices for final approval to create the online listing.

To effectively give your jewellery a chance to sell at a fair price we ask that all items must be listed for a minimum of 4 months to allow sufficient time to achieve a sale.

3. Deliver your Jewellery for Listing

Book a Store Appointment
If you would like to personally bring you jewellery into our store for listing, please advise the day and time so that we can book an appointment space for you to meet with one of our consultants.

Send by Post

If you are sending your jewellery to us via post please ensure that you send the parcel express and with a signature required upon delivery to ensure that you can track that we have received your parcel.

4. Consignment Contract

On assessment we will fill out a consignment contract for your jewellery to confirm your intentions to sell at the agreed prices and provide security for the holding of you jewellery on site. The contract outlines our basic terms and conditions of sale and fee structure.

5. Jewellery Storage

All consigned jewellery will be securely held on premises in an insured jewellery safe to be displayed in store or to any potential auction buyer who request a viewing. Jewellery is held at the responsibility of Diamond Brokers Queensland for any lost, theft or damage to be replaced or paid out at replacement cost.

6. Preparing your Ring for Sale

Once a piece is received for sale at auction it will be prepared for listing. Depending on the requirement this can take up to 2-3 week to appear on the site.

For jewellery items to be listed on our website they are required to have a recent valuation within the last 5 years and must have been professionally cleaned.

If you do not have these done Diamond Brokers Queensland can have your item both valued and professionally cleaned for a fee of $50.00 for each service.

Listing fees – Every item will be charged an administration fee of $50 per item or set to cover the listing and photography costs.

The upfront fee for listing, cleaning and valuation is $50 each.

This fee can be waved and deducted from the sale price at the standard fee of $80 per service or on return of the unsold item.

7. Sellers Premium

Once an item has been purchased either through a tender auction bid, Diamond Brokers Queensland will charge a sellers premium of 10% of the listed or offered price.

This means that the seller will receive 90% off the accepted sale offer.

8. Receive payment

Once an item has been sold and the item has been paid for in full, the buyer will receive the goods and your payment will be processed within 14 days. On finalisation of sale we will request your bank details to send your funds via electronic funds transfer.
